Armed police intervened this afternoon in Ipswich after reports of a threat on Burrell Road, near the train station. Officers from Suffolk Police arrived around 3:15 pm following the alert.
Eyewitnesses confirmed armed officers were visible on the busy road shortly before 3:45 pm. Authorities imposed a brief road closure in front of the station while they assessed the situation.
The incident was resolved quickly and safely, with the road reopening by 3:50 pm. A spokesperson confirmed the individual who prompted the threat has been detained and there is no ongoing danger to the public.
This fast police response prevented further disruption in the area, which sees heavy foot and vehicle traffic.
